Director, Radiology – Gulf Coast Medical Center and Lee Memorial

The Opportunity

The Director of Imaging Services has primary responsibility for leading, controlling, planning,
organizing, and evaluating the delivery of the operations of multiple campuses. The Director will
act as a role model, has accountability for each departmental budget and position control. The
director will collaborate with key departments to meet organizational and departmental goals.
Works directly with multiple campus dyads and system director of imaging services to optimize
performance including volume, efficiency, quality and safety, and patient experience. Has 24-
hour, 7 days a week accountability to their assigned hospital campuses. Assumes other roles
and responsibilities as directed by the System Director of Imaging Services.
This Director will be leading a team of 250 FTE’s, 2 direct reports, with one lead over each
modality, reporting to the system director, in both hospital locations. The overall size and scope
are 900 beds with combined departments completing roughly 30,000 procedures a month.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Accepts overall accountability for departmental operations.
• Plans, develops, recommends for approval, and implements long and short-term departmental
goals, policies, procedures, and budgets that are consistent with the system’s mission values and
strategic plans.
• Recommends and facilitates the purchase of capital equipment.
• Interviews, hires, orients, coaches, evaluates assigns work, and disciplines staff, or delegates
these duties to appropriate designee.
• Coordinates Performance Improvement activities for department.
• Provides support and is a role model for an environment conducive to professional practice.
• Plans, coordinates, and implements staff development.
• Demonstrates or assures clinical competence in all areas of patient care for population services.
• Assures maintenance of department records, reports, projects and staff licensure.
• Provides or assures that the appropriate interventions are implemented to maintain high quality

operations.
• Facilitates and collaborates with all members of the specific acute care facility and with the health
care system.
• Participates in department-related committees, task forces, and activities, or delegates to
appropriate staff.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and master’s are Required.

Experience Requirements: 5+ years in a leadership role with similar size and scope.

Minimum of 5 years clinical experience including 2 years’ experience in all intensive
care/critical care areas.

License: Radiologic Technology License required

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

Other: AART registered (CNMT or ARDMS if applicable)
