After beginning her career as a nurse, HMG Founder Rita Johnson quickly emerged to lead nursing departments within high-profile health systems, later becoming a labor relations expert and recruiter herself.
Brooke Wedding joined HMG as president in 2016, bringing extensive experience working as a recruiter specifically for the healthcare industry and within hospital systems. Brooke continues Rita’s legacy of fierce passion for executive search by providing outstanding service to their clients.

As President and Owner of Healthcare Management Group, Brooke brings over two decades of experience in executive recruiting with a focus on health care systems. Her experience ranges from middle management to executives and interim leadership, placing scores of leaders in her 22-year career. She has successfully built four healthcare startup businesses/departments, including successfully creating and running an executive recruitment department at one of the top 5 Pediatric Hospitals and later one of the largest healthcare recruiting firms in the US. Likewise, Brooke was a successful Leadership Consultant to the fastest-growing Pediatric Hospitals in the US, led a start-up staffing company to become the #1 vendor for the State of Ohio, and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Brooke took over HMG in 2016 to build on these successes and continue to connect directly with her clients. As a natural communicator and relationship builder, her expansive professional network in healthcare is unmatched by most, with clients all over the country. A seasoned veteran in the Healthcare industry, Brooke’s expertise fosters each and every connection she has made throughout her career. Her intentional investment in maintaining and growing her network allows her to bring clients the best opportunities out there.
For over 21 years, teaching and practicing yoga has been another passion for Brooke. This complements the success of HMG and allows her to bring mindful, intentional energy to her clients. She loves connecting with people in general and finds purpose in supporting professionals to find their next opportunity to further their careers. Blending her passions, she builds authentic partnerships that last far beyond career placement. She finds that yoga has made her a better listener and more in tune with client and candidate needs to find the best fit possible. Driven by integrity, success, and a strong commitment to the recruitment profession, Brooke is the ideal partner.
Brooke attended The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. She and her husband Tom met in high school, and have grown a beautiful family of two boys, Chase and Krew, and twin girls, Reeve and Becket, in Columbus, Ohio. Brooke loves being a mom and their family is very close. They enjoy spending a lot of time together through travel, the outdoors, and being active.
